History
1925 Humber 12/25 Open Tourer
MK9593
Built in 1925 and delivered to the London showrooms of Humber Cars in Piccadilly on the 8th December, the model is one of only 1,637 made. The original cost was £440. Its early history is not known but just before the second World War the car was shipped to Northern Ireland where it remained until 1983, having been in one ownership there for almost 25 years. At that time the car returned to England and is only one of twenty or so such cars in the country in running order.
For the more technically minded, the car has its original 1800 cc 4 cylinder engine with overhead inlet and side exhaust valve configuration, enjoys the benefit of 4 wheel brakes as well as a transmission brake and has a four speed crash box and a centre throttle pedal. The original leather /cone clutch is still in situ.
